FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:

To plan, coordinate and solicit or secure resources and funds for continuous development and sustenance of NEWA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan for short and long term on the requirement of resources towards the development and sustenance of NEWA,
  • Develop proposals for resource mobilization/Fund raising
  • Liaise regularly with existing donors
  • Prepare donor mapping including themes of interest, Guidelines for resource access, and financial regulations for resource mobilization.
  • Design strategies to access resources from members organization, donor partners, potential donors, government resources, private/corporate resources and also raising own resources (own income generating).
  • Ensure the compliance of government and donor policies in regard to resource mobilization and fund raising.
  • Identify and induct new potential donors and broaden donor base
  • Ensure timely action and availability of adequate resources/funds
  • Act as a member of NEWA’s Management Committee when there is a relevant issue towards his/her role
  • Regular briefing to the existing donors on activities, achievements and future plans of the organization.
  • Analyze regularly the performance with the objective for mid-term corrections and improvements in weak areas.
  • Be creative and advise the executive director on innovative resource mobilization sources from national and international agencies.
  • Involve in overall planning, liaison monitoring accounting and reporting activities.
  • Advocate and represent NEWA at the Highest level on matters fund raising for women development in the country as delegated by the Executive Director.
  • Liaise and network with relevant NEWA partners and collaborators to improve NEWA’s visibility, coordination of activities and promotion of shared advocacy agenda and future expansion.
  • Lead adherence/compliance to the statutory requirements of NEWA in terms of submission of program/project reports to donor members of the network, and all relevant government offices.

Accountability

  • Supervision: Work independently with authority from the Executive Director, within the strategy and policy Guidelines.
  • Decision making: Makes Decisions with regard to work responsibility and is accountable for them.
  • Responsibility over data or information: Has access to information within NEWA program, and is responsible for program data generation and management and security.
  • Responsibility over assets: Overall responsibility for the assets in the network and their security.

Required  

Professional/Qualifications

Minimal: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, economics   

Desirable: 

  • MBA preferably Economics

Relevant Experience  

Minimal: 

  •  Resources/funds mobilization for NGO organizations  

length of experience

Minimal: 

  • 5 years in similar activities with minimum

Required:

  •  2 Years in related activities
