BACKGROUND

CARVICO Ethiopia Plc, the local subsidiary of a leading Italian Textile company, worldwide leader in the production of warp-knitted and circular Knitted fabrics, has started the construction of a fabric factory in Kombolcha in the compound of the existing Kombolcha Industrial Park.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Career Goal: to attain highest degree of efficiency in the Dyeing department , Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance, Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods and Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Co-ordination with the Planning Department for the dyeing program.
• Working with the compliance team to ensure adherence to environmental, social and health and safety guidelines.
• Machine wise planning as per capacity and priority
• Taking care of yarn dyeing production
• Maintenance of the Inventory – dyes, chemicals, and stationery
• Taking care of Quality checks of the dyed yarn, shade approval of yarn as well as the woven fabric.
• Taking care of machine maintenance with quarterly, half yearly and yearly maintenance with co-ordination of Maintenance team. Taking care of spare parts inventory.
• Regular training of the workmen and supervisory staff on quality issues
• Co-ordination with Planning for the program and quality control dept. for testing of fastness properties.
• Taking care of testing of Rubbing, washing, Light and Perspiration fastness.
• Training of the workmen and supervisory staff on quality issues
• Production planning according to priority and shipment requirements.
• Training of the workmen and supervisory staff on quality issues
• Maintenance of the Inventory – dyes, chemicals and stationery
• Taking care of Quality checks of the dyed yarn, shade approval of yarn as well as the woven fabric.
• Handled all types of yarn dyeing like Pure silk, Cotton, Linen, Viscose,
• carry up on my moral duties according to rules of company & thus, to do any work if face any problem in the workplace then I want their help & suggestion from the responsible persons & work in accordance.
• Yarn dyeing production and quality inspection.
• Lab matching of shades in laboratory.
• Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement within all facets of the organization.
• Any related activities assigned by the General manager.

Qualifications and Requirement

• BSc Degree in Textile Engineering or Chemistry
• Extensive experience in Piece dyeing of weft knitted fabrics in a reputed textile mill
• Able to handle shade matching independently both in Lab and bulk dyeing
• Be familiar with Dyeing machines with Microprocessor control
• In-depth knowledge of textile manufacturing process from yarn processing to knitted fabric processing
• Broad knowledge of the technical processes and products involved in dyeing and finishing of weft knitted fabrics
• Ability to understand and analyze fabric finishing
• Functional "hands-on" mechanical understanding of textile equipment used in handling, production, and finishing of weft knitted fabrics
• Time management and prioritization skills in relation to balancing concurrent projects
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions within context of own work
• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheets software applications, ability to learn additional software programs
• Strong communication skills – must have good English
