Tearfund in Ethiopia is looking for a competent and experienced Senior Projects Coordinator. The Senior Projects Coordinator (SPC) is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities and provides support to partner organisations for successful implementation of the activities.

Tearfund is a UK based, Christian INGO working in over 45 of the poorest countries around

the world, to lift people out of poverty, using local partners and churches wherever possible.

Tearfund has been working in Ethiopia since the 1970s. Along with our in-country partners, we have supported the establishment and development of more than 20,000 self-help groups (SHGs) across 50 locations in Ethiopia, as a sustainable, holistic approach to fighting poverty and its manifestation.

With the massive humanitarian needs in the country and on-going development work implemented by Tearfund Ethiopia, the Senior Projects Coordinator will lead primarily the emergency responses through the partners in all of Ethiopia. Leading the project will include the crucial project monitoring to ensure project quality. The Senior Projects Coordinator will be managed by the Quality Assurance and Program Management Lead (QAPML). In the absence of the QAPML, the SPC leads the Program Management team.

Having substantial experience of:

  • project cycle management
  • Training and capacity building
  • Project budget management
  • Supporting resource mobilization and networking
  • Supporting emergency response and disaster management work
