Background

 Population, Health and Environment Ethiopia Consortium (PHE EC), is a consortium organization engaged in addressingissues of population, health and environment in an integrated manner for improved livelihoods and sustainable well-being of people and ecosystems in Ethiopia.

PHEEC is now seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced candidate for the position of Light Vehicle Driver and would like to invite well experienced applicants for this position to apply.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

• The driver Plans and programs the preventive maintenance of vehicles and sees to it that the vehicles are serviced as per schedule,

• Meets and assists visitors/staff on arrival and departure to/from  Airport

• Follows up regular service time and  repair of vehicle,

• Cheeks and verifies the correctness of the repair of vehicles made by outside garages

• provide all the necessary support related to PHE;

•  Follows up any pending issue with partners or Government organizations.

• check vehicle and fill out travel sheet before going on trips;

• Follows up the assignment of vehicles, conforms and supervises the mileage and proper usage of vehicles; Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s log sheet ensuring users sign on it per trip and Submit log sheets and daily check list monthly 

• Delivers mail and documents, collect and/or give parcel at partners/or the Post Office as assigned;

• Assists management in developing transport policies.

• Maintains annual renewal of vehicle insurance;

• Received and sending any PHE massages, Posta, letters, bills, etc.

• Reports accidents immediately to the supervisor and take timely action in reporting to the insurance company;

• Plans and programs the annual inspection of all PHE- Ethiopia vehicles and sees to it that all vehicles are inspected on time;

• Processes plates for new vehicles and arranges insurance and annual inspections.

• Maintains a logbook for each vehicle and keep records of privately used extra mileage;

Reports to: Field level Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Yayu project/Metu

Job Requirements

Minimum qualifications and experience

• 10th or 12th grade complete with 2 years work experience & valid 3rd grade or public-1 vehicle driving license preferable to those who have NGO Experience.
