Job Description

Established in 2019, Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities through support in the areas of Health, Education and Policy Advocacy.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fundraising and Research Expert to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research to identify and cultivate new funding sources, as well as developing and executing innovative fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and priorities

  • Identify and pursue a diverse range of funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and major gifts

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising campaigns, from initial prospect research to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

  • Collaborate with program teams to understand funding needs and tailor fundraising approaches accordingly

  • Create high-quality fundraising materials, such as grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor communications

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, funders, and other key stakeholders

  • Conduct thorough research to identify, qualify, and prioritize prospective donors and funding sources

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, funding landscapes, and best practices in the nonprofit sector

  • Leverage advanced research tools and techniques to uncover new funding opportunities and donor insights

  • Identify opportunities to conduct and publish original research that supports the organization's mission and fundraising efforts

  • Design and execute research projects, drawing on both primary and secondary data sources

  • Prepare high-quality research reports, articles, and other publications for both internal and external audiences

  • Actively seek out opportunities to present the organization's research at conferences, industry events, and in academic journals

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the executives

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, donor relations, or resource development

  • Proven track record of securing significant gifts and grants from a diverse range of funding sources

  • Excellent research, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising materials

  • Proficient in the use of donor database software, research tools, and other relevant technologies

  • Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to sustainability and growth
