Job Description

To direct and monitor mechanization & agricultural operations of the farm to ensure all farming activities are complete and cost effective.

Duties and Responsibilities

Generic Duties 

  • Sets deadlines in ways that comply with department’s plans and communicate them to subordinates,

  • Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks,

  • Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching,

Main Duties 

  • Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, etc.

  • Inspects fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather,

  • Oversees mechanization section operations, ensure works are done efficiently within production and quality goals meet,  

  • Prepares machinery operation and farming program for the farmland and act accordingly,

  • Controls and monitor farm machinery and equipment’s condition and informs the agriculture department head for any action,

  • Ensures all machineries, equipment’s and tools specifications and operator manuals documented and manage them as per the manufacturer instruction,

  • Monitors all machinery operation hours record and reports,  

  • Ensures employees follow health and safety regulations,

  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills

  • BSc or MSc in  Agricultural Engineering or Agronomy or Horticulture  or Related fields of studies.

Experience:  

  • 8 years for BSc

  • 6 years for MSc 

    Skills:

  • Leadership skills 

  • Problem solving skills

  • Communication skills.
