We are currently seeking a reliable and responsible Driver/Driver Mechanic to join our team at Pharo Diagnostic and Clinical Services (PDCS) in Assosa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of patients, staff, and materials, while also maintaining the vehicle fleet in good working order.
Job Summary:
The Driver/Driver Mechanic will ensure safe transportation for staff, patients, and supplies while maintaining vehicles in excellent condition. This role also includes performing basic vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure the fleet operates smoothly. You will be a key part of our team, helping support the healthcare and operational needs of the organization.
Transportation: Drive company vehicles to transport staff, patients, and supplies to various destinations as required, ensuring safety and timeliness.
Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that vehicles are regularly inspected, maintained, and kept in clean and safe working condition. Perform basic mechanical repairs as needed to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy.
Compliance with Safety Standards: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies, ensuring the safety of passengers and materials during transportation.
Vehicle Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, maintenance, and repairs. Report any issues or accidents to the PDCS Manager promptly.
Logistical Support: Assist with the loading and unloading of materials or supplies as needed, ensuring that all items are transported safely and securely.
Emergency Response: Be available to provide transportation for emergencies or urgent matters, including night, weekend, or holiday work when required.
Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to ensure that transportation needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Driver Safety & Training: Follow safe driving practices and be proactive in seeking opportunities for skill improvement through training and development.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in driving both vehicles and motorcycles with a focus on safety and efficiency. Experience in basic vehicle repairs or maintenance is highly desirable.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance.
Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and patients.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, particularly when it comes to vehicle maintenance and transportation logistics.
