Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, plans, directs coordinates, controls and executes the technical function of the company; ensures that spare parts and other materials required for Electrical & Automation maintenance and upkeep of plant machinery and equipment are fulfilled adequately and in a timely manner; ensures that electrical and automation maintenance is carried out efficiently; evaluates the performance of electrical and automation activities and takes corrective actions as appropriate. Ensure the company is using proper electrical energy and initiate the improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational
Organizes, plans, directs, coordinates and controls the electrical and automation maintenance activities of the company;
Ensures the proper electrical energy usage
Prepares the specifications for machinery and equipment to be purchased
Develops and maintains machinery and equipment life history jackets and other electrical and automation maintenance documentation;
Ensures that spare parts required for electrical and automation maintenance are adequately supplied in a timely manner;
Develops and maintains a roster of qualified workshops and outsources maintenance to same as appropriate;
Prepares specifications for procurement of machinery and equipment; participates in the evaluation and selection process;
Develops and implements maintenance cost reduction schemes;
Ensures that safe keeping of maintenance facilities and tools;
Participates in worker’s skill upgrading programs;
Develops and implements schemes to improve and enhance customer satisfaction;
Develops and implements, in cooperation with all those concerned, safety schemes for the plant and workers;
Directs supervises, and coordinates, as necessary, electrical and automation maintenance tasks assigned to subordinate mechanics;
Approve preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per the repair /service manual;
Interprets drawings and catalogues to carry out maintenance;
Checkout spare parts requirements and approve store requisitions;
Ensure inspection of machinery and equipment to determine maintenance required;
Examines machinery and equipment to determine the nature and location of defects;
Check and approve work performed, time spent, and spars and materials used
Supervises and evaluates the performance of machinery and equipment;
Prepares and submits periodic performance reports;
Ensure RCA for major machine breakdowns.
Performs other related duties as required.

Periodically review all Food safety Procedures and interactions to ensure they remain current.

Environmental Management system
Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements of local, national and international laws related to environmental standards and end client’s environmental requirements.
Recognize and aim for continuous improvement on protection and preservation of the environment with a focus on reducing resource consumption, recycling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, no net deforestation) as well as innovation to reduce environmental impact.
Ensure reduction targets (environmental objectives) are in place for environmental aspects e.g. water consumption and discharge, waste, energy and greenhouse gas emissions.
Determine environmental aspects and impacts and devise methods to prevent or reduce these environmental impacts.
Retain a list of chemicals used and control them as per their material safety data sheet, and legal and client requirements. Also properly handle and manage hazardous materials and wastes.
Use R rules (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, etc) to avoid or minimize discharges to water, emissions to air and disposal to land.
Ensure sustainable use the natural resources such as water, raw materials, energy and other resources. And also accurately measures and monitors consumption (usage and waste performances) of key utilities and natural resources that follow recognized protocols or standards.
Implement, document, maintain and continually improve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015).

and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Assisting in the ongoing maintenance of a safe workplace through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with company Occupational Health

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Experience: 3+ years for BA degree holders or 6+ years’ experience for Diploma holders in the manufacturing industry
COMPETENCIES: -
Knowledge and Experience Required
BSC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
At least 3-6 years of relevant work experience,
Knowledge of WCM/MEP strategies and initiatives
Good knowledge of maintenance activities.
Familiarity with maintenance systems
Familiarity and Experience with TPM
