Hagerie Television is currently seeking a talented and driven News Editor to join our dedicated news team.  As a Newsroom Content Editor, your role and responsibilities are crucial in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and relevance of the news content being published. Here are some key responsibilities for a Newsroom Content Editor:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Content Editing: Your primary responsibility is to edit news articles. You'll review content for clarity, coherence, and readability, making necessary revisions and improvements.

•  Fact-Checking: As a Content Editor, you'll verify the accuracy of the information presented in news articles. 

• Content Planning and Organization: Collaborating with the editorial team, you'll participate in content planning meetings, suggesting topics, and identifying potential news stories. 

• Collaboration with Writers and Journalists: You'll work closely with writers and journalists, providing feedback on their work, suggesting improvements, and guiding them to meet the standards. This involves effective communication and constructive editing discussions.

•  Monitoring News Trends: Staying updated with current events and news trends is essential. You'll monitor breaking news, trending topics, and emerging stories, ensuring that the publication remains relevant and timely.

• Remember, the role of a Newsroom Content Editor requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of journalistic principles.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• BA, Communications and journalism, Theatrical Art, Political Science,  Language and Literature and related field

• At least 4 years of experience in the Media industry and at least 1 year work experience as new editor. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to meet deadline and manage multiple project news simultaneously

• Ability to maintain professionalism and positive attitude in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

• Understand Audio/ Video editing is needed
