Job Requirements

  •  CEO of the Construction Company

Experience: 

  • 14 years total, with at least 6 years in a senior position in Finance position preferably in construction company

1. Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field

  • ACCA, CPA, or other relevant financial certifications (preferred)

  • Certification or proven expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

2. Experience & Industry Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 14 years of progressive experience in finance, including financial planning, analysis, and risk management

  • At least 6 years of experience in senior positions preferably in the construction sector, with strong knowledge of construction financial management, cost control, and project financing

  • Expertise in Ethiopian tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Experience in implementing and managing IFRS standards in financial reporting and auditing

  • Hands-on experience in handling large-scale construction project budgets and contracts

3. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial advice and strategic guidance to the CEO and senior management to support decision-making

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls specific to the construction industry

  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and profitability of ongoing and completed projects, ensuring IFRS compliance

  • Ensure proper budgeting, forecasting, and cost management for construction projects

  • Assess financial risks and provide recommendations for mitigating financial losses

  • Monitor compliance with IFRS, Ethiopian tax laws, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with procurement and project managers to ensure financial efficiency in material and service acquisition

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and advise on financing options for company growth

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, board members, investors, and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to IFRS

4. Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS implementation in financial reporting

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, ERP systems)

  • Excellent understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and construction-related financial compliance

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and leadership abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
