Job Description

Eur¡ka is seeking a qualified GBV Officer to support implementation of a gender-based violence response project funded by Expertise France. The position is based in Abala (Afar) and involves technical coordination, capacity building, community engagement, and monitoring activities. The successful candidate will ensure effective application of GBV SOPs, provide support to frontline workers, and promote survivor- centered services.

Functional Area: Protection / Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Responsible For: Implementing GBV programming in Abala, Afar, including case
management, MHPSS support, awareness and outreach activities.

Reporting Line: Head of Programs
Key Relationships: Field Officers, Community Leaders, Service Providers, Local
Authorities, and Partner Organizations

Job Requirements

  •  bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Public Health, or Gender Studies (Master’s preferred)

  •  Minimum 2 years of relevant GBV experience in humanitarian or post-conflict contexts

  •  Knowledge of GBV case> management and trauma-informed care

  • Fluency in English and Amharic; Afarigna is highly desirable

  • Strong coordination, interpersonal, and reporting skills

  •  Familiarity with Ethiopia’s GBV legal and response frameworks

  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
