Under the close supervision of the MCH Specialty Manager or Deputy MCH Manager or the Senior Admin and Finance Officer, the Ambulance Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients with both critical and non-critical medical conditions to and from the MCH, clinics/centers, and homes, ensuring that patients receive prompt, safe, and comfortable transportation at any time of the day or night, including weekends and holidays (24/7 availability). This role requires adherence to traffic laws, patient care protocols, and vehicle safety standards, while ensuring a comfortable and timely journey for passengers
Duties & Responsibilities:
Patient Transportation
Transports patients, clients, and staff from the center to their homes or from home to the center or from the center to other hospitals when instructed.
Transport stable and critical patients to scheduled medical appointments or teritiary referal, discharge facilities, or residences.
Assist patients with safe entry/exit from the vehicle (e.g., using stretchers, wheelchairs).
Ensure patient comfort and dignity during transit.
Respectful interaction with patients/families.
Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency calls
Navigate efficiently to emergency sites using GPS and digital map system.
Mantaine continues and effective communication with dispatching and emerergency unit as needed.
Ensures that the vehicle is utilized for the sole purpose of the MSIE organization's work only.
Checks and ensures the timely filling and rational use of fuel and oil supplies to the organization's vehicles.
Ascertains that the necessary appliances (spare tyre, fire extinguisher) are readily available in the vehicle.
Ensure proper cleanliness, maintenance, servicing, repair, and safekeeping of the vehicle.

Compliance & Safety
Drives the vehicle assigned to him safely, with strict observance of traffic rules and regulations and the organization's internal policy.
Ensures the annual inspection of the vehicle before the set deadline.
In the event of an accident, lodges and follows up on claims according to the organization's insurance policy.
Report accidents/incidents to the Center manager/fleet manager as soon as they occur and in line with company procedures.
Adhere to infection control procedures (e.g., sanitizing surfaces).
Secure medical equipment (oxygen tanks, stretchers) during transit.
Record trip details (mileage, fuel usage, patient names, destinations) in logbooks.
Verify patient identities and transport authorizations.
Complete incident reports for accidents or patient incidents.
Keeps proper and up-to-date records of vehicles' operational data, including mileage covered, fuel and oil supplies/consumption, and repairs and maintenance.
Settles bills for utilities and other similar services.
Assists in the collection of quotations from suppliers, purchases items for the office center when other vehicles are not assigned during non-emergency conditions.
Deliver Supplies and equipment to the store, per the organization's established practice.
Performs related tasks as required by the center manager/ fleet manager.

Qualification Requirements:
Education
10th/12th Grade Completion and III Grade/ Public I Driving License
Experience
Two or more years of directly relevant experience
Skills, Attitudes, and Attributes
First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
Awareness and commitment to traffic regulations.
Defensive driving skills for varied road conditions.
Clean driving record (no major violations).
Awareness of Insurance policy terms and conditions
Awareness of the need to safely take patients as quickly as possible to the intended medical centers.
