The Purchase Assistant at Parlo Ceramics Products Manufacturing PLC plays a crucial role in supporting the purchasing and procurement functions within the organization. This full-time position is designed for junior-level professionals with 0-1 years of experience, providing an opportunity to develop skills in purchase, negotiation and communication. The role is based in the office in Addis Ababa, where the Purchase Assistant will assist in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely procurement of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.

  • Coordinate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier information in the procurement system.

  • Support negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and timelines.

  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate reordering processes as necessary.

  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance for management review.

  • Assist in the development of procurement strategies and action plans.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve issues and inquiries.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word for document creation and reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and management of procurement records.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing presentations on procurement strategies.

  • Ability to actively listen and understand the needs of stakeholders in procurement.

  • Skill in developing and implementing action plans to streamline purchasing processes.

  • Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple procurement tasks and deadlines.

  • Understanding of procurement accounting principles to assist in budget management.

  • Familiarity with major market places in the town.
