Job Title:  Food and Beverage Cost Control 

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Genesis Fish House has been in specialty restaurant business since 1996 E.C and the restaurant has now become one of the best destinations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to taste and experience the delicacies of best cultural and international fish cuisines for both domestic and foreign customers. So far, the restaurant has opened three branches in Addis Ababa. The first branch is located around one of the business centers of Addis Ababa, 22 Mazoria, besides Yohannes Kitfo   ,the second branch is situated at the other flourishing areas of Addis Ababa, Bisrate Gebriel and the third Branch is located at summit Fiyel Bet area.  

Currently, the organization is in trajectory of expansion to other business activities and it has already entered into import business and also in the process of entering export, catering and coffee services. Hence, there is a need to organize and coordinate its business activities systematically as group of companies for effective management and efficient resource utilization.  The company is to operate in holding company model that controls and leads the subsidiary companies.  Accordingly, this organization and method study is commissioned. 

Role Description 

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Food and Beverage Cost Controller based Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing Food and Beverage costs to ensure optimal financial performance, while maintaining adequate cost controls. Key tasks include preparing and analyzing cost reports, maintaining accurate Food and Beverage Cost Controller cost records, identifying cost-saving opportunities, ensuring compliance with budgetary limits, and collaborating closely with other departments to implement cost management initiatives. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 

  • Proven related experience of 5 years and above on the specified  position 

  • Strong proficiency in Food and Beverage Cost Control and Cost Management practices 

  • Experience in Cost Accounting and a solid understanding of financial principles 

  • Excellent Analytical Skills to analyze data and make informed decisions 

  • Knowledge in Finance and financial reporting processes 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work on-site in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 

  • Hotel industry experience and familiarity with hotel cost management systems is a plus
