The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. The Senior Finance Expert is a seasoned professional responsible for providing advanced financial analysis, strategic financial planning, and decision support to the organization. This role involves in-depth financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as providing financial insights to senior management. The Senior Finance Expert contributes significantly to the organization's financial stability and growth. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and scenario modeling.

  • Provide actionable insights based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making processes.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads and senior management.

  • Develop comprehensive financial models and forecasts, analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed and insightful financial reports, including financial statements, profitability reports, and financial performance dashboards.

  • Present financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders, explaining complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.

• Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  • Provide strategic financial advice, recommendations, and scenarios to optimize financial performance.

• Cost Management:

  • Analyze costs across various departments and projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

  • Implement cost management strategies to optimize expenses while maintaining operational effectiveness.

• Financial Risk Management:

  • Identify financial risks and vulnerabilities, assessing their potential impact on the organization.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's financial interests.

• Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits.

• Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their financial needs and provide financial support and analysis as required.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

Job Requirements

Specification:

Masters or BA degree in accounting, economics, Business or related field

8 years and Bachelors | 7 years and Masters | 4 years in a leadership.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of financial rules and regulations 

• Knowledge of tax laws

• Knowledge of Internal implementation/regulation of the organization

• Knowledge of financial reporting procedures

 Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):

• Proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis tools, and financial management.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
