General Description

As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel, daily, maintenance checks, and repairing mechanical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. Chief Engineer will also be required to coordinate renovation projects and develop emergency programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage Engineering operations to ensure profitability, control costs and quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction

• Safeguard and maintain building mass utilizing property management and preventive maintenance systems,

• Oversee the functions of the engineering department, review supply inventory, schedule, forecast, and plan department budget,

• Evaluate team members and provide leadership and guidance to engineering team members ensuring consistent quality and optimal economic results.   establish all emergency programs & conduct lift emergency release procedures as required,

• Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses. Responsible for the health and safety of the hotel,

• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned,

• Ensure monthly safety inspections take place and employees are trained accordingly,

• Conduct ongoing preventative maintenance program for all guest rooms and public spaces

• Daily inspections of property to identify potential and current needs

• Responsible for managing and controlling monthly maintenance budget expenses

• Coordinate with local health, fire and building inspectors to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

• Review, prioritize and complete daily work orders and maintenance logs.

Job Requirements

• B.SC Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with demonstrated Five Years’ Experience

• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering,

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Experience in Managerial/Supervisory role

• Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

• Preferable to have an experience of  installing and troubleshooting electrical switches, operating boilers and HVAC units, also to include drywall repair, plumbing repairs, etc.
