Under the general supervision of the Cost Division Head, the Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, coding, and checking the accuracy of postings of cost transactions, and completing all recordings of purchases (including raw materials, supplies, medicines, disinfectants, and vaccines), finished goods, and reporting cost information to management. The role includes preparing cost reports related to cost/profit centers and projects, showing labor, materials, overhead, and selling & administrative expenses.

  Duties and Responsibilities 

• Record all Goods Receiving Notes (GRN), Goods Return Notes (GRN), Credit Notes, Store Issue Vouchers (SIV), and Goods Return Vouchers.

• Prepare cost sheets for commercial purchases.

• Ensure supplier invoices are accurate and contain all required supporting documents before processing for payment.

• Journalize and post Settable Egg receiving notes from Breeding and issuance of Settable Eggs to Hatchery (Setter Room).

• Code and record DOC receiving notes and mortality, including reconciliation against credit sales invoices.

• Ensure all costs are properly accumulated and assigned to the appropriate stock.

• Ensure all production costs are correctly accumulated and allocated.

• Ensure proper unit production cost calculation.

• Ensure all required purchase, production, sales, and dispatch documents are collected, checked, and completed before coding and recording.

• Prepare and follow up on outstanding GRN, SIV, DO, and purchase invoice documents, and report periodically.

• Follow up and collect all required source documents from each farm periodically and report any missing documents to the Cost Division Head immediately.

• Ensure regular physical counts of raw materials, finished goods, vaccines, medicines, and eggs, and reconcile them with stock cards.

• Prepare sales vs. finished goods stock reconciliations and variance analyses periodically.

• Prepare stock and finished goods reconciliations and variance analyses.

• Prepare finished goods production vs. delivery and on-hand stock reconciliation and variance analysis periodically.

• Reconcile finished goods records against production and hatching department reports.

• Ensure proper coding and posting of all stock movements.

• Prepare actual vs. standard unit production cost variance analysis reports on a monthly basis.

• Review and ensure accuracy of coding and posting for all received stock and produced finished goods.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Competence

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/suppliers.

• Strong knowledge of accounting software; ERP experience is an advantage.

• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Qualifications and Requirement 

• BA Degree in Accounting/Finance 

• Relevant work experience is preferred
