ATTA Trading PLC is seeking to hire a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer for its Olympia site. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical systems, managing site activities, overseeing electrical material requests, coordinating with subcontractors, and supervising labor to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, supervising, and managing all electrical works on site, including high-rise buildings. This includes preparing designs, overseeing installations, managing electrical materials, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design and Planning

• Design and plan electrical systems for high-rise building projects.

• Manage site work and ensure tasks are executed according to project plans and specifications.

• Oversee the procurement, issuance, and management of electrical materials.

• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and site labor.

• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate records and reports of electrical works and site activities.

• Prepare and review electrical designs for high-rise building projects.

• Ensure all designs comply with local electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.

• Provide technical guidance to site engineers and junior electrical staff.

• Review and approve electrical shop drawings, layouts, and schematics.

2. Site Management and Supervision

• Supervise all on-site electrical activities, ensuring proper installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Monitor and evaluate the work of subcontractors and labor to ensure quality and productivity.

• Ensure timely completion of electrical works in line with the project schedule.

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.

3. Material and Resource Management

• Prepare and manage electrical material requests, ensuring timely procurement and availability on site.

• Monitor material usage to minimize wastage and control costs.

• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for smooth material flow.

4. Coordination and Communication

• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, MEP) for smooth project execution.

• Attend site meetings, progress reviews, and reporting sessions with the project management team.

• Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure that all electrical installations meet quality standards and project specifications.

• Conduct inspections and tests to verify proper operation of electrical systems.

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian electrical standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, inspections, and material usage.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.

• Document any changes, issues, or variations in electrical works.

7. Mentoring and Leadership

• Provide guidance, training, and supervision to junior engineers, site engineers, and technicians.

• Ensure that the electrical team follows proper procedures and safety practices.

• Foster teamwork and a culture of accountability and efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including high-rise building projects.

• Strong knowledge of electrical design, installation, and maintenance.

• Good IT skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other relevant software.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience managing teams and coordinating multiple site activities.
