Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department with day-to-day tasks including recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record and maintain financial transactions in the accounting system
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
Assist with bank reconciliations and account analysis
Support payroll processing and tax filings
Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Handle payment, sales , JV and posting on Peachtree
Handle petty cash and prepare petty cash summary
Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligation
Ensure timely payments
Issue and manage invoices for clients and customers
Prepare salary, pension contribution and withholding tax.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance field
Expereince: 1 - 2 years of accounting experience
Experience working in a healthcare, or import/export company is an advantage
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., IFRS, Peachtree, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good understanding of basic accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Able to type office letters, outgoing letters, and other documents in both Amharic and English
Collaborates well with all levels of staff and management.
Negotiation skills
Excellent communication in Amharic and English
