Currently SNV Ethiopia is working in the eight+ regional states of Ethiopia which includes– Addis Ababa, Afar, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul, SNNPR, Oromia, Amhara and Tigray regional states, providing technical assistance and program implementation in the major 3 sectors including Agriculture, WASH and Energy. SNV is an open and learning organization focuses on improving the lives of Ethiopian Need people through best practices in the value chain, market, and youth and gender. Through its work in agriculture, SNV in Ethiopia supports the development of number of value chains such as milk and milk products, honey and beeswax, oilseeds and edible oil, fruit and pulses, livestock and horticulture. This takes a value chain development approach, with special focus on improving access to sustainable markets for smallholder farmers and by developing business-to-business relations and improving business development services.

Objective

The overall objective of the assignment is to document disability inclusive water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) initiative being implemented in Este woreda of Amhara region both the process and key achievements in term of successes, challenges and lessons learnt that are helpful to scale up at different level. 

 

Job Requirements

  Professional Requirements:

  •   The firm should be local/national with relevant renewed license and tax registration;
  •  Key personnel required for this assignment must have at least a Master’s degree in literature with background of environmental health, social sciences, public health or any other related field of study;
  • Extensive experience in documentation of similar assignments for national or international organizations. Track record of successful in the development of documentation reports in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) interventions would be an asset;
  • Minimum of four years documented work experience in the area of documentary writing, producing, directing and editing.
  •   In-depth and up-to-date knowledge to produce high quality  documentary, cases stores, Practice briefs or case studies;
  •  Experience in WASH sector is an added value;
  •  Experience in development communication and qualitative study;
  •  Submission of three recently produced similar documents;
  • Submission of three reference letters for performing similar assignments in the last five years;
  •  Submission of name and contact addresses of three references who can witness/testify good performance; 
  •   Fluency in Amharic and English,
  •  Availability and willingness to travel to project woreda and hard to reach rural kebeles;
  • Ability to work in close coordination with SNV team members;

Interested firms or individuals should submit a technical and financial proposals in response to the call of consultancy, which should include the following:

  • Cover letter
  •  CV that includes credentials that clearly state the experience of the applicant/s    
  •   At least one sample of their work similar for this assignment
  •  At least three references in the last 12 months and the contact details
  •  Legal registration certificate

Technical proposal of a maximum 10 pages (including annexes) that include the following contents:

  •  Short company/firm profile;
  •  Approach/methodology/steps to be followed to carry out the assignment;
  •  Production team members, roles and responsibilities;
  • Summary of qualification and related assignment experience of production members;
  •  Summary of related assignment accomplished by the applicant firm in the last five years

                                 Name of client/project;

                                 Type/description of work accomplished;

                                  Time period/when

  • Name and recent address of three referees;
  • Tentative work plan;
  • Annexes:

                          Reference letters (three);

                          License and tax registration document

Financial proposal with clear description of budget items, unit of measurement and quantity, unit rate, total budget, and any applicable tax (not more than 1 page).

Note: Please remind that travel costs (vehicle) from Bahir Dar to project woreda and within the project woreda for data collection works and vice versa will be covered by SSH4A project of SNV Ethiopia – those items should not be included in the financial proposal.

Both the technical and financial proposals should be in a separate sealed and stamped envelope by 01 November 2019 the latest and sent to SNV using the following address:
