SNV, Netherlands Development Organization, is Dutch based, non-for profit foreign charity operating in Ethiopia since the 1970s. SNV has gone through many phases and evolutions in its 53-year history. This has enabled us to remain relevant in a changing world. We have a great complement of nearly 1,300 staff in our 28 offices around the world in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. We aspire to scale our impact. To step up to solidify our position as a premium organization. We will remain a global organization with a local presence (rather than a loose association of country outfits). Currently SNV Ethiopia is working in the eight+ regional states of Ethiopia which includes– Addis Ababa, Afar, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul, SNNPR, Oromia, Amhara and Tigray regional states, providing technical assistance and program implementation in the major 3 sectors including Agriculture, WASH and Energy. SNV is an open and learning organization focuses on improving the lives of Ethiopian Need people through best practices in the value chain, market, and youth and gender. Through its work in agriculture, SNV in Ethiopia supports the development of number of value chains such as milk and milk products, honey and beeswax, oilseeds and edible oil, fruit and pulses, livestock and horticulture. This takes a value chain development approach, with special focus on improving access to sustainable markets for smallholder farmers and by developing business-to-business relations and improving business development services.

Feed the Future Ethiopia: Livelihoods for Resilience Activity (GRAD II project) is a five-years USAID funded project designed to enable 97,900 PSNP households to graduate from PSNP with longer-term resilience. It is implemented by a consortium of five development partners CARE, SNV, ORDA, ASE and REST. The consortium is led by CARE-Ethiopia and is implemented in three regions, Amhara, SNNPR and Tigray. SNV-Ethiopia is a technical partner leading the implementation of the VCD/ market system development component of the project.
