International Rescue committee (IRC) Terms of reference to hire individual consultant to provide training on Hygiene promotion approach (PHAST, CHAST, CHC Approach & Method of Measuring Behavioural change
Background
The IRC responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. It works today in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities; we restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. Currently the International Rescue Committee (IRC) implementing WASH intervention in more than 15 refugee camps in different field offices with the aim of increasing access to water, sanitation facilities and fostering hygiene promotion programs . Building the capacity of the hygiene promotion team in knowledge and skills in the targeted refugee camps is one of the issues included under WASH planning in the project period. Accordingly, the IRC proposes this TOR to hire the experienced professional consultant to provide the hygiene promotion training in the proposed areas.
Rational of the work
A professional consultant will provide training to less than 30 hygiene promotion participant on Hygiene promotion approach (PHAST/CHAST, CHC & Method of measuring behaviour change). The basic focus of this training will be building the capacity of the hygiene promotion team who has based and work in targeted refugee camps. Towards this end, IRC is seeking to hire well experienced professional to provide training on the above hygiene promotion approaches) .The training will be provided for 5 days in Addis Ababa.
Objective
The overall objective of the consultancy work is to provide training to capacitate the knowledge and skill of the sanitation & hygiene promotion teams on different hygiene promotion approach latter that will be implemented in the camp context.
Scope of the work: planning preparation stage of the training manual and training area, provision of the training, final report submission, delivery of the training materials tools
Trainers’ responsibility
· Preparation: conduct consultation/discussion with IRC Environmental Health Team specifically with SSHPMS to be clear on area of training context and others as required,
· Implementation: conduct the training properly for the targeted participants.
· Report: the Trainer will write and submit a comprehensive final training report including evaluation of the participant , deliver training materials /tools and reporting template for IRC

Organization and Timing
The training will be facilitated and leaded by the main trainer from preparation to final completion of the work and report submission, will also be assisted by the IRC SSHPMS. The assignment is expected to take place over a total of 10 days to complete the full training which will be conducted in Addis.

Expected outputs: Deliverables

· Brief report of the trainings including evaluation results of the participant submitted to the IRC
Job Requirements
Competency and expertise requirements
- The professional trainer who is going to manage this assignment must have masters preferably in Public health, health Promotion, communication or related fields with at least 3 years of Experience
- analytical and conceptual ability ,
- Demonstrated understanding of health, hygiene promotion behavioural change communication methods & approaches with well experience of conducting health and hygiene promotion trainings.
Location: the training will be held in Addis Ababa
