First Consult is a consulting firm in Ethiopia specializing in delivering effective and business-oriented solutions for development, business, strategy, human resources, finance and investment problems and needs of its clients.

First Consult and DAI have been implementing programmes supporting the industrialization development for the past 7 years such as Enterprise Partners and recently launched a new 5-year programme – BRIDGES, funded by the Mastercard Foundation, to support the country’s job creation effort mainly for women and youth.

Accordingly, First Consult is currently seeking to hire the following personnel for the BRIDGES programme:

JOB SUMMARY

The MLE Analyst will be responsible for supporting implementation teams and their partners in monitoring and measurement of results and activities; which entails constraint analysis in selected sectors/markets, supporting implementation teams design strategy & plan activities, baseline assessments, impact assessments, field & desk research, third party research, data processing, reporting etc. to ensure that all results are monitored, measured, learnings are taken in to account .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Lead/guide/support implementation team in necessary Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation processes and preparation of needed outputs
• Ensure quality of interventions implemented and results measured (during and post intervention phase)
• Support management with information to steer interventions and assessments
• Provide necessary assistance in formulation and development of case studies, quarterly reports, annual reports, business plans, special studies and other similar documents periodically
• Assist implementation team in data analysis and aggregation
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure proper implementation of activities
• Guide and train field staff in carrying out monitoring and assessments
• Play a role in creation of knowledge repository for the project
• Capture, document and share lessons learned from the project implementation to larger stakeholders and community, including evidence on project stories of change and promising practices
• Provide information on project learning and monitoring data to integrate lessons learned and course- correction in implementation going forward
• Identify and respond to information requirements of different stakeholders and make information accessible on timely basis
• Support knowledge management and learning by producing specific programme information resources
• Carry out any other duties that may arise in the course of the project

Qualifications/Skills:

• BA/BSc/MBA/MA/MSc in Economics, Management, Business Administration Marketing Management, Project Management or related fields of study
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, or a related field with responsibility for data collection and analysis, in either private sector or through donor organizations supporting the financial sector
• Entrepreneurial or business-risk taking experience is highly desired
• Strong command of English and Amharic languages
• Knowledge of research techniques and data analysis
• Understanding of monitoring and evaluation
• Competence in MS office, especially Microsoft Excel
• Professional level competence in English Language
• Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation may be an advantage
• Ability to think critically and lead discussions on intervention results
