1.  Position :         Supervising Engineer

             Job Grade:       8   

            Duty Station:   Addis Ababa Head Office

             Availability:     As Soon As Possible

 Job Purpose: The purpose of this job is to handle responsibility in leading and supervising construction related functions of the exchange. Provide support on the ECX construction projects, project designing, Term of reference and proposal preparation.

SUMMARY MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and schedules project timelines for building constructions
•  Coordinates and supervises construction related functions as per the standard requirement;
• Supports in bid evaluation tasks in relation to different constructions of the exchange;
• Supervises project implementation activities carried out by the contractors to ensure completeness of drawings, technical specifications and various stipulations contained in the contract document;
• Ensures the quality and standards of work in the execution and completion of constructions within stipulated time limit;
• Supervises and monitors projects using modern construction supervision and contract management methods and systems;
• Ensures the achievement of construction project targets on time, budget and quality as per the specification;
• Guides the project team in implementing construction project goals.
• Prepares Term of reference, business plan and proposals.
• Assists in preparing contractors’ contract agreement and other related documents as required;
• Administers the contract including payment certificate approval, claim handling, and  other related administrative works;
• Gives professional support in defining construction area and size specifications;
• Prepares and delivers periodic reports defining project progress;
• Performs any other related tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

• MSc/BSc. in Civil Engineering or other related field.
• 2/4 years of relevant experience in construction management, house construction project, supervising building contractors or related areas
