Premier Switch Solutions S.C. (PSS) is a leading Electronic Payment Processing company, established by major private banks of Ethiopia. The Company has implemented the first multi-institution shared-switch infrastructure to provide its member banks with a state of the art payment technology to drive ATM, POS, e-commerce, Mobile Banking and other payment channels and provide clearing of Debit/Credit card transactions for the banks.

Currently, PSS, has a vacant position stated below and would like to invite applicants who meet the qualification and required experience listed for this job opening. 

Purpose of the Job: To support the smooth and secure functioning of the day to day PSS’s operations by administering the Applications, database and generating operational reports and management information

Main Duties and responsibilities:

• Monitor the administration of complex databases and database management system software of the company at data Centre and disaster recovery site.
• Coordinate the installation and configuration of the PSS’s database and applications management systems.
• Ensure optimization of database and applications performance by undertaking performance tuning of the PSS’s database and applications as per the set standard.
• Monitor the analysis, design, and integration of the PSS’s database and applications systems with other systems.
• Lead the allocation of system storage and plan future storage requirements for all database and applications systems.
• Supervise users and user access levels for each segment of the PSS’s database and applications.
• Implement developed scripts for taking backup and restoring databases and applications.
• Develop and monitor the proper implementation of storage and archiving procedures.
• Ensure the storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.
• Coordinate the automation and production of operational reports and management information, adhering to defined templates and ensuring compliance with information security protocols.
• Assist with the release of information relating to systems change to processes.

Generic duties of the position:

• Prepare Section work plans and monitor their execution.
• Develop policies and procedures for the Section and lead in their implementation and continuous review.
• Prepare budgets for the Section and track their implementation.
• Coach and mentor employees within the Section towards effective career development.
• Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her subordinates.
• Manage disciplinary concerns of the Section staff.
• Take part in the PSS’s decision making process by becoming member of different committee (s).

Qualification and Experience:         

• BSC degree in Computer Science or related field with six (6) years of demonstrated experience of which two (2) years in supervisory position.
• Have hands on experience on oracle database, oracle grid, VMs.
• Having experience on E-banking, E-payment or banking sector is advantageous.
• Willing to work extra-hours whenever there is planned or unplanned demand

Certification

• Applicants who have international certificates like Oracle, Linux, server, etc. are advantageous
