IT and Communication Officer maintains the computer networks of the Association, providing technical support and ensuring the Association runs smoothly. He/she monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software, and solves technical problems. He/she shall support EEA’s internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate public material, actively promote EEA on social and other media outlets, responds to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate promotional events.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Installs and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners;
• Monitors and maintains computer systems and networks;
• Responds in a timely manner to service issues and requests;
• Providing technical support across the Association (this may be in person or over the phone)
• Setting up accounts for new users;
• Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary;
• Testing new technology;
• Possibly trains   staff members on the application of software’s and programmes;
• Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation of specifications;
• Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostic to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance;
• Develops training materials and procedures, conducts training programs for users;
• Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors;
• Tests and monitors software, hardware, and peripheral equipment to evaluate use, effectiveness, and adequacy of product for use;
• Evaluates of software and hardware, and submits recommendations to management for review;
• Collaborates with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on target audience;
• Writes, edits, and distributes content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services;
• Responds to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for EEA;.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database;
• Seeks opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required;
• Maintains records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics;
• Spearheads communication activities and monitor information flow and dissemination;
• Promotes EEA services, products and activities in a coherent way, process driven way;
• Uses channels and tools accessible to many in order to reach diverse audiences and disadvantaged groups;
• Considers the diversity and knowledge base of its target audiences in crafting its messages;
• Cultivates strategic relationships with national and foreign media to improve public understanding, communication and increased visibility and presence;
• Performs other tasks as required and as requested by his/her supervisor or other staff.

Job Requirement

• Education: BSc in Computer Science/Statistics/related fields.
• Experience: 4 years relevant experience
• Special training: Communication, Web-design, use of social media and foreign language.
