Background

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international centre that supports and promotes nonviolent

approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing the preconditions for building peace. LPI envisions a world where peace, justice and non-violent relations prevail through people’s active work and commitment. LPI works with a variety of partners in the Horn of Africa region, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Great Lakes region, particularly the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

 

LPI Ethiopia programmer identifies and supports transformative and inclusive peace pathways– exceptional organization and programme team who have a strong desire to promote inclusive and sustainable peace in Ethiopia, an innovative  and model idea to bring actors who need to weave the strands of transformational and inclusive peace together, and the passion and the drive to create this change. LPI Ethiopia is co-founded by SIDA and USAID. 

 

Position Summary

We are looking for a talented intern to join our team at LPI Ethiopia. This is an opportunity to learn and get hands-on experience with collaborative listening, sustained dialogue, conflict sensitive land administration, social peace entrepreneurship/incubations and policy advocacy coalition formation.

 

The Programme Intern will play a role in providing general programme and administrative support in logistics, partnership liaison, preparation and production of non-programme work plans and budgets, monitoring the implementation of action points and in the production of meeting notes and action point calendars.
