 We are looking for a dynamic Key Populations Consultant to support development and implementation of comprehensive interventions targeting key populations. She/he will support MULU KP community-based interventions and support demand creation for HIV testing, ensuring targeted HIV testing for individuals with substantial HIV risk and support optimal linkage of HIV positives. The KP Consultant will also be engaged in generating and analyzing KP-related performance data in line with MULU KP M&E requirements. He/she will help ensure the delivery of high quality KP friendly HIV services in coordination with local implementing partner (LIP) teams. The KP Consultant will also be required to work with LIP and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate the transfer of appropriate knowledge, skills, approaches and tools to address the HIV/STI prevention needs of the key populations. She/he will help to enhance Index Case and Social Network HIV Testing in coordination with PSI and LIP staff.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of HIV/STI prevention and behavior change communication interventions and HIV services to Key Populations
  • Assist the overall planning and implementation of HIV case identification through ICT/PNS, social network and targeted outreach testing
  • Contribute to the attainment of a 100% linkage of HIV positive individuals in coordination with the local implementing partners and public health facilities
  • Be actively involved in the expansion and scale up of PrEP, HIVST, ICT and HIV recency testing and case-based surveillance
  • Support community level providers in ensuring a KP friendly services
  • Support tailored trainings to site level staff to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated HIV/STI/FP services
  • Review and analyze site level performance data, document and disseminate lesson learned and best practices

 Generic Duties of the Position:

  •  Support need based targeted HIV testing events in coordination with local implementing partners.
  • Contribute to HIV case identification plans and re-design strategies when and where needed.
  • Take part in the joint design and re-designing of innovative and tailored strategies to enhance new HIV case identification
  • Facilitate the distribution of HIV prevention commodities and supplies to target groups.
  • Support hotspot mapping for HIV testing targeting key populations
  • Support the MULU KP team in assessing HIV needs of KP and identifying service delivery outlets

  • Participate in TOT and basic trainings on comprehensive HIV services 

Job Requirements

Background

  •  Nurse or other medical background, or social science background with focus on behavior change, with two years of experience on KP HIV programming required
  • Having a track record of supporting the development of innovative HIV service delivery strategies targeting hard-to-reach KPs is an advantage
  • Experience in qualitative data collection among key populations
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
