Dugda Floriculture Development P.L.C is one of the leading companies in rose growing and export business in Ethiopia. We are located in Bishoftu, 45kms from the Capital, Addis Ababa and operate on 20 hectares of greenhouse coverage.

 Job purpose:  The incumbent is required to plan, organize, manage, and lead the Farm’s operation in a highly professional manner with a view to enabling the Farm produce the required quantity and quality for the export market.

 Job summary:  The primary responsibilities of the Farm Manager include but not limited to the following:

• methods and tools for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the Farm’s performance.
• Collaborate with the Sales team of the Company with a view to keeping proper synchronization between production and markets.
• Regularly report the Farm’s performance to top management of the company.
• Initiate and implement programs for developing the Farm’s technical staff skills, knowledge, and managerial capacity.
• Ensure that the required data and information relating to the Farm’s operation are properly and systematically organized.
• Manage ongoing expansion projects and ensure timely and with-in budget completion.

Duty station:  The incumbent should be willing to stay in the premises of the Farm where well-furnished room is available.

 Qualification, Experience, Skills

•  Bachelor’s degree in horticulture or plant science or other related agricultural fields of study required.  Masters in similar fields is a plus.
• Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in rose farm management, of which at least seven years as farm manager.
• Must be committed, result oriented, team builder, systems thinker and problem solver
• Hands on expertise in crop protection, irrigation, fertigation and quality management.
• Solid experience in execution of new farm projects as well as expansion into related business lines.
• Must have strong analytical, planning, organizational, interpersonal, communication and reporting skills.
• Excellent capacity and skill in reporting, communication and performance management
• Experiences on propagation and vegetable farm is also highly appreciated
