Summary:

To manage the knitting department, provide advice and guidance to the team on technical/product related aspects and lead / direct the team to achieve the set production objectives in the most effective manner.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Analyze new styles together with the COO /Quality Manager and provide technical input in order to decide production viability.
• Assess resource requirements, provide information to management, coordinate with relevant parties so as to ensure the availability of all resources for production (including machinery, manpower, raw materials, support services, etc.) to facilitate production operations.
• Coordinate with the planning team to plan weekly/daily output targets, (taking into account deliveries, SMV’s and available hours), monitor actual output, identify variances and take appropriate corrective actions to ensure completion of production in-line with the plans.
• Manage overall knitting operations, conduct daily production meetings to identify critical production issues, take actions to correct/avoid problems by advising / guiding the team on all related aspects and coordinating with other teams as necessary, in order to ensure shift production targets are achieved
• Monitor and ensure all production performance parameters such as output, efficiency, quality, on time delivery, material consumptions are met as per agreed standards whilst ensuring product compliance with customer requirements, in order to ensure that the plant achieves its annual business objectives.
• Coordinate / communicate with buyer representatives and take actions to arrive at win-win solutions on relevant product/delivery related issues ensuring customer satisfaction
• Lead, guide the team, monitor / improve team performance, ensure employee knowledge and capabilities are continuously enhanced to meet current and future requirements in order to facilitate optimum team performance (This includes setting objectives, sitting-in for performance appraisals, giving feedback, multi-skilling and ensuring training and development needs of subordinates are fulfilled.)
• Ensure set health and safety standards are maintained to provide a healthy and a safe work environment conducive to higher employee productivity
• Develop and maintain good industrial relations with all subordinates, resolve relevant employee relations issues / grievances (in coordination with COO and HR where appropriate) to maintain employee motivation/productivity at high levels
• Develop next level of team whom will take responsively with total knitting operations

Duties:

• Achieve daily planned targets

• Assure production with correct ration in knitting production
• Submit MIS report on time.
• Motivate workers to reach optimum targets by effective intensive systems 

• A degree in Textile Engineering or related field of study,
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Natural leadership abilities.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Able to work long hours
• 5 years Experience in knitting factory
