ROLE PURPOSE:

The purpose of this role is to provide essential support to Save the Children’s emergency programs by being responsible for the SCI supplementary feeding program beneficiary information collection and recording accurately.  

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure OTP guidelines are in place and are adhered to

• Register each new <5 admissions, and other vulnerable groups in the registration book and filling out an individual ration card for such admissions

• Register all <5 absentees at the end of each distribution

• Make a list of all <5 absentees and defaulters share it with the Woreda health Coordinator

 Knowledge on the protocol:

• Update the registration book with the relevant details (Wgt and Hgt % wt/ht calculations) of <5 attendees

• Able to interpret anthropometric data and provide feedback to carers regarding child’ maturational status 

• Record all <5 discharges/defaulters/ transfers from the OTP and highlight such exits clearly

• Observe all <5s progress in the program and carry out the relevant intervention (education/referral/reassurance and praise of carer) with support and guidance of Nurses

Working environment:

• Maintain a good relationship with other team members and the community

• Work in close collaboration with the community mobilizer to plan and implement the program and to ensure that all the aspects of the program are integrated

• To carry out all activities in accordance with the Ethiopian Emergency Nutrition Guidelines

• Any other responsibilities as directed by the Nurses and the Response Area H&N Coordinator

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

• Grade Diploma/TVET or12 and sufficiently literate to register children who meet the program criteria for admission

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the areas of NGO’ experience

• Can fluently read and write the Somali language

• Basic understanding of Somali/English language

• Excellent working in numbers

We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector.  The duty station of the position holder will be in Shaykosh, El-Ogaden, & Kudun-bur Woredas of Korahey Zone Somali Regional State in Ethiopia. This role is offered on the basis of national terms and conditions only.
