We are looking for an analytical, reliable and solutions-oriented Finance Operation Manager that establishes a reliable accounting and reporting system that enhance the financial decision-making process of PSI Ethiopia’s IGA by (i) monitoring accurate recording of transactions, and timely preparations of financial reports; appropriate tax filing and (ii) conducting a close follow-up on the organization’s compliance with all financial and regulatory obligations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Finance and accounting including Treasury, sales and A/R, and inventory management and archive and documentation, fixed asset and vendor payments, and chart of accounts.
  • Lead the development, dissemination and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management and accounting.
  • Maintain sound financial systems and policies in line with IFRS for SMEs, PSI policy, partner contractual obligations, statutory regulations, and local relevant laws and directives.
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly tax filing and declaration including all supporting schedules and the reconciled trial balance.
  • Ensure timely submission of all statutory reports including tax returns.
  • Ensure that accounting entries and financial reports comply with IFRS, PSI policy, funder regulations and contractual obligation with partners, relevant local laws and directives.
  • Manage cash flow of the IGA wing and maintain relationships with local banks.
  • Prepare financial statement for annual, ERCA, ACSO and external audits as required and manage the audit process.

Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Develop and implement the IGA’s plans and objectives.
  • prepare bank reconciliation for the bank account designated for IGA cash management.
  • Ensure month and year end inventory count in all warehouses and prepare a report.
  • Monitor and ensure proper utilization of the IGA’s budgets.
  • Identify human resources requirements of the IGA wing and develop plan for meeting the requirements.
  • Lead the development, implementation and review of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Review, approve and submit reports to relevant organs.
  • Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
  • Represent the PSI/E’s IGA in external relationships related with the unit.

  • Participate in group decision making processes by forming part of different groups/committees

Job Requirements

What are we looking for? The basics

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related fields with Five (7) years of demonstrated experience out of which two (5) years at a Managerial level

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Banking and Finance or related fields with seven (10) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (7) years at Managerial level
  • Certified in adoption and implementation of IFRS

What would get us excited?

  • Working knowledge of accounting of entities in supply chain, business entities and regulations for cooperative agreements, international and domestic trade relations
  • Exposure to supply systems of health supplies and commodities
  • FMCG experiance
  • Proficient in MS office applications and advanced financial analysis tools
  • FMCG knowledge and experience
  • Proficient in English and local languages, both written and verbal communication
