MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ICS Addis is recruiting an experienced Communications Manager to join our Communications team. ICS seeks an individual to be the team writer and help manage the day to day activities of the communication office, working directly with the Executive Director of Strategic Programs.

The position holder will be responsible to manage all communication production that includes managing the development and production of divisional profiles, oversee the production of the weekly newsletter, manage content on the ICS website, drafting regular parent communication and oversee event planning and execution. 

The Communication Manager is expected to write 1-3 weekly articles for websites, develop annual brochures for each division in collaboration with divisional team; ensure quality of different communication materials produced; supervise the development and maintenance of different social medias of the school and keep up to date on the latest tips and techniques for all social media platforms.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

The successful candidate must be a native English speaker/writer and have a bachelor's degree with seven years of successful and dynamic experience in writing and editing with an ability to produce materials quickly and in a variety of styles (published articles, speeches, social media postings).  Candidates must have 2+ years working with social media engagement; experience in developing social media campaigns/strategies across multiple platforms; strong personality to oversee a team, collaborate and work with others; interpret and report on relevant analytical information. Applicants must be well organized, able to work on their own and develop clear timelines and work schedules; have strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus and ability to handle school information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy; Strong attention to detail, proactive in nature, ability to prioritize, and flexibility in managing multiple deadlines. The position will require the candidate to be creative, collegial, approachable, and eager to assist and approach tasks (occasionally outside of the job description) with humor, warmth, and enthusiasm, for the greater good of the school.

This position is an 18 ­month (through 2021 school year) with the possibility of extension, local or local foreign hire contract. It requires occasional weekend and evening work.
