WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As the Senior Advisor for Sustaining and Accelerating Primary Health in Ethiopia (SAPHE), you will be based in Addis Ababa and will work closely with the program team leads on the priority areas of support. You'll build rapport with key staff in the Federal Ministry of Health and directorates to provide support and reinforce accountability for specific initiatives and targets.
SAPHE is a five-year Department for International Development (DFID) programme, launched in 2015 to support Ethiopia’s Health Sector Transformation Plan.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be the focal person of the programme on primary health care and health extension as well as the health sector transformation plan II.
In this role you'll also support the Federal Ministry of Health's existing initiatives relating to strengthening primary healthcare including; Woreda transformation regarding developing high performing healthcare units and expanding primary health care coverage.
You'll drive visioning. strategy, stakeholder convening and technical inputs in the development of the Health Sector Transformation plan II. You will support the tracking of selected health care units and ensure they are transformed into high performing ones by creating a culture of quality management and data driven actions.
You'll also build capacity and coach others to improve quality of outputs and outcomes. You will motivate others by being a role model in building a positive work culture towards a common goal.
Job Requirements
- MD with related post graduate programme education, preferably in health, business and administration related field
- 10+ years of experience in Ethiopian health sector
- Experience at national level at the Ministry required
- Advanced knowledge of Power Point, Excel, Word
- Ability to promote diversity and cultural differences Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Written and oral fluency in English and Amharic
