Position Overview:

We are looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health of our organization by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements.

You should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing all accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and all accounting cycle procedures.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

• Keep accurate records for all daily business transactions in the accounting software
• Verfify invoices while coding and recording in the books of account
• Continuously stay abreast with donor policies, procedures, rules and regulations; compile and update applicable local policies;
• Ensure compliance with the organization financial policies and procedures.
• Support in archiving all finance documents and ensuring that they are in safe custody and easily accessible by the finance team.
• Provde inputs for the revision of chart of account when needed
• Record accruals, PPE, accounts payable and accounts receivable on timely manners
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and particpate in the external audit process
• Reconcile bank statements
• Assist with budget preparation
• Perform other duties as required

• Splash’s Finance Coordinator in Addis Ababa

 Compensation and Benefits:

•  Annual salary for this position will be established at time of hire and will be reviewed at least annually.

Required Experience:

• BA degree in Accounting and Finance and related fields
• At list five years proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
• Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and IPSAS
• Experience using financial software
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Sharp time management skills
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
