Roles & Responsibilities:
The purpose of the ICLA Team leader position is to supervise and implement the delegated Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) project portfolio. The team leader will work closely with the Area Manager / Field Office Programme Coordinator to ensure that project implementation is on track.
The team leader will be responsible for implementation of HLP, civil documentation and Identity documents thematic areas.
The leader is responsible of directing, organising, and controling project activities under the direction of Field Office Area Manager / Field Office Programme Coordinator based in Assosa and under the technical support of the ICLA Manager and ICLA Specialist. S/he also attend meetings with authorities, and other humanitarian actors, launch and coordinate the HLP working group in Kamashi / East and West Wollegas and assist with determination of projects requirements, drafting and issuance of project proposals and reports. S/he tracks the projet progress and uses project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budget and expenditures including effectively and accurately communicating relevant project information to the beneficiaries and project team to ensue beneficiary’s needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner. In Kamashi zone, the ICLA Team leader with coordinate with NRC partners to successfully implement the project activities.

• Previous experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Previous experience in the humanitarian sector in Beninshagul Gumuz is an asset
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills;
• Strong organizational and team building skills
• Ability to prioritise responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Ability to work independently
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience
• A University degree in law is strongly preferred and will be considered a very strong asset; alternatively, a degree in social science, political science, or a related subject will be considered if the candidate has a sufficiently strong background in protection related work
• Experience from working in a protection or legal assistance project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context, including the delivery of technical capacity building trainings
• Experience in project management, including supervision of staff and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
• Significant experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting on project activities
• Prior experience of representing an I/NGO, and advocating on behalf of beneficiaries, in public forums (e.g. Protection Cluster/Sector)
• Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
• Fluency in two or more of the local languages such as Gumuz Language, Arabic, Amharic, and Oromifa has added value
