JOB DESCRIPTION

Expected Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using standard project management methodology and practices
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Support the project execution and governance by tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, and timelines throughout the project process.
  • Co-ordinate project team meetings to provide status updates and identify and resolve issues to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated project goals
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risk
  • Supervising the timing of all tasks, critical path, reevaluating the allocated times depending on the progress of the project
  • Report regular and on a timely manner to IT department and project steering committee
  • Report and escalate to IT department and/or project steering committee as needed
  • Coordinate internal resource and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects
  • Establish and maintain relationship with third parties/vendors
  • Develop and communicate clear and actionable deliverables, or activities to be completed to relevant teams and departments.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Identify the processes and activities needing improvement and identify and communicate the new workable process standards and best practices to approach those activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Ensuring that the project is completed successfully

JOB REQUIREMENT

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to details and multitasking skills

Additional Qualifications

  • Understanding of standard project management methodology is mandatory
  • Project management training and /or Project management certification (PMI) preferred
  • Experience in IT project implementation in financial sector is preferred
  • Knowledge of Flexcube core banking system is desirable
  • Excellent technical writing skills and documentation
  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to manage teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skill
  • Strong negotiation skill
  • Experienced in end to end project management.
  • Core banking implementation experience and digital banking experience is a plus

Educational Level and Work Experience

  • Minimum Bsc in computer science or related fields and  5years’  of experience in IT project management

Place of Work: Head Office, Addis Ababa.
