SUCAFINA is a coffee trading house based in Switzerland with the vision of becoming the World’s leading sustainable, farm to roaster, coffee supplier by 2025.  The SUCAFINA Ethiopian Representative Office has been in operation since 2016.  Previously focused primarily upon commercial coffees, we are focused upon growing this business while shifting attention towards growing our presence in the specialty coffee market.

Summary of the Role:

Working under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager, this person will be responsible for supporting all laboratory activities to improve the speed and efficiency of SUCAFINA quality operations.

 Job Description:

 SUNCAFINA Ethiopia is looking for a motivated, dedicated individual that is interested in the coffee sector with a desire to move up in the industry.  This person will assist the Quality Manager in assessing and ensuring the quality of all coffees that enter our lab.  In addition, this person will assist our quality department in organizing laboratory inventory, streamlining laboratory processes, preparing/sending samples to clients, and maintaining lab cleanliness. 

 Responsibilities:

• Will represent SUCAFINA in all work related activities and must uphold company values.
• Will roast samples when required.
• Will prepare cupping sessions when required.
• Will complete sensorial and raw coffee analyses.
• Will maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Will help maintain inventory and enter sample/cupping information into databases.
• Will prepare various samples for clients.
• Will assist with other office work as asked by other managers.

Reporting Line: Reports to Quality Manager

Qualifications:

• Must display a strong interest to work in the coffee sector.
• 2-years of experience in the coffee sector preferably quality analysis.
• A familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is desired.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

 Skills

• Displays ability to work well in a group setting with understanding of corporate hierarchy and chain of reporting.
• Must display a forward thinking ability to analyze and propose solutions to problems that may exist in their field of work to strengthen SUCAFINA operations in Ethiopia.
