Invitation to submit applications for Ethiopian short- and long-term experts.

GFA Consulting Group GmbH, based in Germany, is one of the leading European consulting firms active in the development cooperation sector with specialization in the agricultural sector (see www.gfa-group.de). GFA is a leading German partner for, among others, KfW, GIZ and EU, and as such, we are preparing for several upcoming projects financed by international and bilateral donors in the fields of Soil and Water Conservation, Irrigation, Climate Smart Agriculture and Community Development in Ethiopia.

Key tasks of future project teams in Tigray, Amhara, Oromia and Addis Ababa will be the following:

  1. Supporting partners (woredas, communities) in planning, budgeting and implementation of measures to rehabilitate landscapes, to manage infrastructures  and to improve agricultural productivity & income generation
  2. Assisting regional and federal partners in planning and budgeting, in finance and funds management and reporting
  3. Strengthening community organisation and rural economic development
  4. Support to Monitoring & Evaluation of activities, investments and indicators 

Job Requirements

GFA is looking for experts with the following profiles:

Basic Requirements:

  • University degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in the field of monitoring and evaluation
  • At least 10 years of professional experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation.

General Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge and proven experiences in the field of monitoring and evaluation
  • Firm determination to provide services at the highest professional level
  • Solid background in providing advisory and capacity building services
  • Ability to work in self-organizing teams
  • Very good analytical and communication skills
  • Experiences with German / internationally funded programs
  • Fluent in Amharic, English and either Afan Oromo or Tigrinia for respective regional positions.
