Company Background

PROJECT-E is a German Non-Profit registered as a foreign charity in Ethiopia since April 2013, whose objective is to empower young women from destitute social backgrounds by offering high quality and practice oriented vocational education and social skill. In order to achieve this mission and train students at our Hospitality Institute, PROJECT-E is in need of a Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall quality project management and implementation in accordance with the objectives of education and empowerment of our beneficiaries.
  • Plan the project budget and make regular monitoring on its implementation.
  • Manage all team members and support the academic and social department during recruitment, career development, job displacement and cooperative training of students
  • Strengthen the network of signatories and public/private stakeholders
  • Supervise all activities comprehensively, planned and implemented in close coordination with team members, partners, signatories and public stakeholders engaged in the project
  • Submit reports, review and revise all project documents and curriculum of education
  • Build respectful and positive working environment and relationships for quality program implementation
  • Support the IGA program from establishment to implementation. Make sure deliverables are aligned across the projects and manage risks.

Duration

  • 1-year contract – extendable upon agreement

Job Requirements

Educational requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences or any other relevant field

Total experience: 

  • Experience working in an intercultural environment and in a development country
  • A minimum of three years work experience in project management and/or NGO work
  • Knowledge and first-hand experience in the field of international development
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Political or Social Sciences or any other relevant field
  • Excellent skills in standard software (Microsoft Office)
  • Fluency in both oral and written English and Amharic (knowledge of German is an advantage)

Skills:

  • Excellent management skills in results-based management and results-oriented approach to project implementation
  • First-hand experience in international development cooperation
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the field of vocational training and or with socially marginalized communities (in Ethiopia) are desirable
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision
  • A resourceful problem-solver
  • Flexibility and dynamism 
  • Team-player: strong interpersonal, networking and team building skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with analytic capacity and the ability to synthesize project outcomes and relevant findings into quality papers and reports for a range of audiences
  • Maturity and confidence in dealing with senior and high-ranking members of national and international institutions, business representatives, government and non-government bodies
  • Willingness to work together with, learn from and listen to local staff and partner organisations
  • Energetic, positive and constructive attitude
