Caritas Switzerland (CACH) is an international humanitarian organization which has been supporting various projects/programs in Ethiopia since 1974. CACH is registered by Charities and Societies Agency (License # 3676) according to the proclamation of the country with major focus in WASH, Livelihood, and humanitarian Aid.

Caritas Switzerland (CACH) is desirous to hire qualified consultancy firm on competitive basis in accordance with the terms and conditions illustrated in the Terms of Reference (ToR) prepared for this consultancy service.

The objective of the consultancy is to develop market system analysis report based on thorough study on key agricultural products and value chain using Market for the Poor (M4P)/Market System Development (MDS) approach in the project (Improving Food Security and Nutrition in the Sahel by Safeguarding Wetlands through Ecological Sustainable Agricultural Water Management East Shewa and Arsi Zone Oromia) woredas of East Shewa and Arsi Zone. The Market System Analysis report is intended to be a practical and concise document which guides the implementation of the project to improve the market system and ensure the benefit of small holder farmers

• The consultancy firm shall have demonstrable three years of experience in core areas of the consultancy work (as detailed in the TOR).
• The consultancy firm should be able to assign at least two people with PhD/MSC degree in Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, and or related field. 
• Have proven strong experience in Market System Analysis, business plan development and conducting similar assignment as in this consultancy service. 
• The consultancy firm should present references of successfully completed similar tasks
• Be able to demonstrate understanding of data collection sensitivities and associated risk management.  
• Proven skills and experiences on statistical tools/methods and analysis.  
• Evidence based expert reporting and documentation skills. 
• Demonstrate adequate capacities to organize and complete the assignment within the time frame specified. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work well with diverse people.
• Fluency in English and local language(s) and understanding of the local context.
