Duties and Responsibilities
With guidance and overall supervision of the UN Women Ethiopia Deputy Representative, and directly reporting to the Programme Analyst, the Intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:
- Support the team in organizing trainings and advocacy related workshops/events as well as writing the report proceedings of the same,
- support the team in fund transfer to implementing partners and follow up on timely and effective implementation and reporting of programme activities,
- Support up on the execution of CSAAB Program baseline survey and JP RWEE evaluation through supporting logistic arrangements for inception meeting and validation of the reports,
- Support in knowledge management and communication activities of the WEE Program;
- Work with the team on monthly internal reporting on the progress of WEE program,
- Assist the team, MOWCYA and participating organizations in preparation and launching of WEE forum,
- Perform other duties as may be directed by the supervisor and deputy country representative

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Recently graduated or pending graduation in a bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, gender/women studies, business management or other similar subjects at the university level
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation, or Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.
- Knowledge in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.
Language:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
- Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
- Afan Oromo and/or Afar language will be an asset
Renumeration:
Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
