 Main purpose of the job

• Managing the packaging department and insuring On Time in Full delivery of the communicated production plan.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• plan a production schedule for the packaging processing department to ensure ON Time In Full delivery of the production plan
• review and adjust the schedule where needed
• determine the human resources required
• manage human and material resources to meet the budget
• ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance task are done on time with cooperation with engineering department
• implement food safety procedures
• work out and implement standard operating procedures for packaging operations
• ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
• ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
• implement and enforce quality control system to meet quality KPIs
• Ensure that root cause analyses of production and quality defects are carried out and corrective action are taken to prevent the reoccurrence of the detects
• determine and implement improvements to the packaging process if needed
• prepare packaging reports
• monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
• set packaging budgets
• manage packaging budgets
• ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including production, maintenance, planning, marketing and warehouses

Required Education/Experience and Key Skills  

• A formal engineering qualification (mechanical or industrial engineering)
• A management qualification or the equivalent experience
• Ideally has a basic know-how of brewing industry
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards
• Knowledge of government regulatory programs and HACCP
• A significant amount of experience managing a high-speed packaging line (5 or more years)
• A demonstrated ability to drive improvement and innovation at a brewery
• Experience in managing a team
• Proven ability to use best practice manufacturing techniques to improve a brewery
