Currently, our business unit Dereja is undertaking projects in tackling the issue of youth unemployment. Dereja is a pioneer in establishing Career Center services in Higher Education Institutions, organizing regional and national job fairs and design and deliver employability skills training for fresh graduates.

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-driven Front-end Developer to join our team. As a Front-end Developer, He/she will be responsible for implementing visual elements that users see and interact within a web application, which makes his/her role crucial for the success of our business.

Here at Dereja, we encourage new ideas and foster creativity, selected candidates will be working with a team of varied expertise, cultural background and age’s circles. The Front-end developer is set to have the following duties and responsibilities.

• Participate in new projects.
• Study and research Current UX/UI trends in the Career and Youth development platforms and make requirement plan documentation for new projects and current websites.
• Create technically feasible user-friendly UX/UI web, mobile and desktop pages and designs based on research and documentation.
• Build high-quality mockups and design different prototypes with high-quality graphics and visual elements based on company brand guidelines.
• Changing mockups to markup languages and style sheets such as HTML, XML and CSS /SCSS to be integrated with the backend.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team with other professionals such as back-end developers and deployment teams.
• Optimize web application visuals for maximum speed, scalability, and ease of use.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Stay up to date with current best practices
• Conduct UI tests and optimize performance
• Maintain a version controlling
• Improve work based on feedback
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Skills in Adobe suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other related graphics design platforms
• Expertise in  web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• An Excellent understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SCSS.
• Fluent in JavaScript, CSS, and jQuery
• Good knowledge of ReactJS, Vue.js.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX,
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial or SVN.
• Best Knowledge of SEO principles.

Educational Background and Experience

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related fields
• Two or more years of experience in web developing, especially, back end development
