Position Summary
YOM Institute of Economic Development (YIED) is a legally registered, accredited, and recognized post graduate college currently operating in Addis Ababa and its regional campuses in the city of Hawassa and Bahirdar. It is established in 2014 G. C by a group of young and experienced PhD holders and professors, who have strong craving and determination of contributing to postgraduate education in the country. Moreover, the institute is engaged in various researches and training programs. YIED seek to hire a purchaser. The position is entrusted with the purchasing duty and report to the Human Resource and General service business line of the Institute.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- The Purchasing Officer Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases;
- Creates and maintain good relationships with vendors/supplier;
- Maintains records of purchases, pricing, and other important data;
- Reviews and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options;
- Negotiates the best deal for pricing and supply;
- Ensures that the products and supplies are high quality and the finance Manager to complete duties as needed;
- Research potential vendors
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers;
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery;
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices;
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.

Job Requirements
Qualification/Requirements
- College/ TVET Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management and related field of studies from a recognized College.
- A minimum of 1 year and above experience in similar position.
