Background of the position

The System developer will be responsible for managing the internal processes of computer systems. A system developer works with other departments to solve the existing problem of the computer and incorporates with the new technologies in order to overcome the office needs. The other responsibility is to test the hardware as well as the software and to diagnose them to resolve the faults/bugs of the system. Its role also includes assembling the systems as per the given requirement mainly to contribute to the successful implementation of the project entitled “Strengthening Decentralized Disaster Risk Reduction Project in SNNPR and Ethio_Somali region at regional, zonal and woreda level as part of the Project Implementation Team in National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC).

The System Developer will work under the direction and guidance of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation directorate of NDRMC. The post holder will work in close coordination and alignments with Funding Partner (EU), Government stakeholders, UN Agencies and other international and local NGO working in the regions on disaster risk management streams.

 Specific Activities:

• Install and configure software and hardware
• Manage network  servers and technology tools
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and It policies
• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Integrate software components and third-party programs
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
• Gather and evaluate user feedback
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Strong computer programming language are mandatory, C # and/or Java

Job Requirement

• At least 08 years for BA/Bsc professional combined experience in the following fields: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Professional background:

•  Strong Java web service and web development background, including Spring, REST, JSON, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, and design patterns.
• Understanding of modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, JQuery, AJAX, CSS, and SASS

Language skills: Bilingual, Amharic and English (written and spoken)
