The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) wants to recruit employees in the following vacant positions the details of which are mentioned bellow.
About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 33 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Ensures completeness of documents and prepares appropriate classification of codes;
- Registers accounts transactions in accordance with the accounting software system and accounting procedure manual of the Society;
- Checks and verifies payment requests against availability of budget and presents same to the senior accountant for further treatment;
- Follows up and facilitates the timely delivery of reports from branches;
- Cooperates with internal and external auditors for inspection and audit review of the project funds and books of accounts;
- Make sure that all respective partners and the field teams are complying with the EU terms and conditions signed on the grant agreement by ensuring compliance with EU/CETU financial procedures.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Second /First degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Finance and 1/2 years of related work experience, at least 2 years’ experience on handling of EU fund project as an accountant
SKILLS
- Experiences in large scale donor funded projects; particularly for EU fund will have added value
- Training in accounting software application, Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel and Accounting Software ( SAP or Peachtree accounting )
- Good command of written and spoken English
