ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party, Technical (DCOP) for a five-year USAID-funded multi-sectoral and integrated positive youth development program. The anticipated program will build the capacity of national and local institutions to improve the quality and availability of health services, increase youth leadership and civic participation and improve economic pathways for Ethiopian young men and women.
The DCOP reports directly to the Chief of Party and ensures high quality technical implementation of proven interventions that meet stated goals and reporting requirements. This role will assume the responsibilities of the COP in their absence. The DCOP coordinates with USAID, key stakeholders, implementing partners and government representatives. This role manages the technical implementation of key program activities throughout the targeted districts and oversees the technical program managers and technical advisors. The technical direction of this program will be determined by this role in conjunction with the project team as well as the donor and other key stakeholders.
This position is contingent upon donor approval and funding.

Dimensions: Save the Children works in Ethiopia with a current staff complement of approximately 1,740 staff and current expenditure of approximately $90+ million each year.
