Providing psychological support to patients (migrants and deportees) according to MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve the patients’ mental health.
Accountabilities
• Implement individual sessions whit the patients, according to the mental health guideline’s.
• Carrying out mental health evaluation of patients’ needs, establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment. Informing the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and the drug treatment to follow and referring patients to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the patient's condition.
• Ensuring patient information and psychological process is under the principles of confidentiality, impartiality and privacy.
• Develop and implement group sessions whit the patients: Psychotherapeutic, Psycho-education, Group discussions & trust-building activities, psycho-stimulation, Community mobilization, according to the mental health guideline’s.
• Develop, assisting and implement trainings whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of mental health activities
• Identify Sexual abuse survivors, providing psychological support according to MSF guidelines and referring to the medical team to have a comprehensive treatment
• Identify Ill treatment’ survivors, providing psychological support according to MSF guidelines and referring to the medical team to have a comprehensive treatment and making the reports required for these patients.
• Identify Suicide risk patients, providing psychological support according to MSF guidelines and referring to the medical team to have a comprehensive treatment
• Identify Psychiatric patients providing psychological support according to MSF guidelines and referring to the medical team to have a comprehensive treatment
• Deliver activities reports and products on time, according to the required parameters, ensuring quality of products and adequate collecting statistical-monitoring datas.
• Working in close collaboration with cultural mediators in order to ensure appropriate terminology and behavior during sessions and other activities.
• Support and contribute activities related to advocacy.
• Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
· Willingness and ability to work in quarantine centers and other spaces related to COVID-19 and mental health care for immigrants and deportees.
· Willingness and ability to fill positions in case a replacement is required.
· Understand and follow all IPC protocols, during interventions that require it
