Job Summary
The cash project coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of activities in the cities, support the field staff and the communities during implementation, work with both governments, community leaders and project committees during the implementation of project activities in ensuring that activities are implemented in accordance with the technical and donor guidelines and that all the necessary project documentation is generated on time and correctly.
Reports to: Field Office Manager
Roles and Responsibilities
Role 1: Promote the comprehension cash assistance project in the intervention area:
Activities:
- Collect and evaluate information on cash assistance.
- Identify the needs of the most vulnerable populations;
- Engage on the market assessment, baseline, and end-line surveys for cash assistance projects.
- Propose how to meet these needs;
- To critically follow evolution of the cash / Livelihood Security in the area
Role 2: Implement suitable cash assistance activities:
Activities:
- Define implementation modalities (identification and registration of beneficiaries, distribution, monitoring, etc.) and Plan activities for implementation and achievement of program goals in order to achieve the set objectives;
- Organize and supervise the implementation of identified activities (cash) in coordination with other departments;
- Monitoring, designing sampling strategy and methodology, preparing questionnaire data collection, data encoding and analysing.
- Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the intervention in view of the evolution of the context and needs;
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly project reports for the internal and external consumption.
- Plan/forecast program budget and monitor the financial utilization of the program
- Work with field coordinator to prepare interim, intermediate and final program reports.
- Preparing program procurement request.
Role 3: Recording, Monitoring and Reporting activities
- Follow clearly appropriate protocols and guidelines on recording and reporting.
- Ensure that LMMS well up to date, reports are regularly backed up, data are analyzed and reports are send to capital office.
- Ensure that data collected are complete, reliable, relevant, timely and valid.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tool for the ongoing project
- Ensure that Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and other monitoring exercise are carried out in a regular bases.
Role 4: Team management:
Activities:
- Organize the teamwork and plan of actions (planning responsibilities);
- Collaborate with the HR and Field operations manager on the timely recruitment of staff, carry out personal performance appraisal of the member in a regular bases.
- Identify teams` training needs and develop the capacity of the team by delivering on job training and mentoring
- Work and collaborate transparently and efficiently with all the support departments both at base and capital levels.
- Organize regular staff meeting to discuss challenges and formulate way forward.
Role 5: Represent Save the Children International
Activities:
- Develop a network of contacts at field level (INGOs, Government, technical or scientific, political) to allow a smooth implementation of the project.
- Represent SCI in different coordination platforms with different stakeholders such as authorities, communities, local NGOs, INGOs involved in the response and participate at Zonal and Woreda level meetings and workshops
- Explain the project’s activities and objectives to partners and communities as needed.
- Participate in preparation and activities related to donor visit.
- Implement other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Field Manager/Technical advisor at country level.
Role 6: Additional Responsibilities
Activities:
Perform any additional task assigned by direct line manager in line with job description and plan of action.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
BA degree in Agricultural economics, Development Studies, sociology and social anthropology, Food Security studies
Experience and Skills
· At least 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian organization (NGOs) out of which one year in cash assistance & interventions.
equired skills:
· Proven track record on Food/Livelihood security project management and project implementation
· Good technical Knowledge on needs assessment, project formulation and Monitoring.
· Good capacity analysis.
· Report writing
· Capacity to organize and supervise the team
· Skills in Budget management
· Capacity to establish and develop a network of professional contacts
· Good Computer skill
· Good working knowledge of English (read, write and speak) capacity to respect deadlines, willing to share information and communicate transparently.
· Team player. Willingness to work under pressure and extra hours, extremely flexible, able to work independently, have the ability to cope with stressful situations, good organizational and interpersonal skills, ability and willingness to work in remote áreas. Good knowledge in food security, cash and Voucher, and innovative agricultural activity.
· Knowing of local language is advantageous and English language is compulsory.
